Singha Durbar: Nepal’s Stunning Lion’s Palace Revealed

Singha Durbar, the "Lion's Palace," is not just a government building; it's a masterpiece of Neo-classical architecture and a symbol of Nepal's history.

Architectural Grandeur

Built in the early 20th century, Singha Durbar was once the largest palace in Asia. Its design blends European styles with traditional Nepali elements, featuring grand courtyards, ornate carvings, and majestic pillars.

Historical Significance

Originally built as the private residence of the Rana Prime Ministers, it now serves as the seat of the Government of Nepal. Despite facing fires and earthquakes, the front wing remains a testament to the engineering skills of that era.

Preservation Efforts

Following the 2015 earthquake, significant restoration work has been undertaken to preserve this heritage site. At Expert Sewa, we draw inspiration from such historical structures to build homes that stand the test of time.
